The history of the shipyard Lagoon, located in the French province of Bordeaux and has a line of 14 models with hull lengths from 11 to 24 m, began in 1984. The work on racing catamarans was started by the Jeanneau shipyard, making Lagoon its specialized structural unit.

An interesting fact. In 1995, Lagoon built a post-industrial fantasy trimaran for the filming of the American adventure film Waterworld.

Until the purchase of this company by such a monster of the yachting world as the Beneteau group, various catamarans with hull lengths from 55 to 67 meters came off the shipyard's slipways. After the takeover, Lagoon became a structural division of CNB (Construction Navale Bordeaux). It is noteworthy that such famous designers in the world of yachts as Vincent Prevost and Mark van Petegem worked in this company. The technical thought of these engineers belongs to BMW-Oracle - a trimaran that managed to win the America's Cup in 2010.

The merger with a major player in the shipbuilding market benefited the brand and in 2004 the Lagoon 440 entered the market - the result of the manufacturer's painstaking work on the modernization and development of the catamarans line. The vessel is the first flybridge catamaran to be less than 45 feet in length. The model has become very popular, and its circulation was 420 pieces.

The shipyard never ceased to amaze the consumer, having released the Lagoon 420 Hybrid hybrid catamaran two years later. Sixty successfully sold copies consisted of the circulation of another bestseller of the shipyard - Lagoon 620. Successful premieres were the launch of the series of models over 24 meters long - Seventy 7 and Seventy 8 and the Lagoon 630 catamaran.

Part of the Beneteau Group brands, the shipyard continues to build serial motor and sailing cruising catamarans at its production facilities in Belleville sur Vie, western France. The model range is expanding and today it is possible to order the execution of the catamaran with the use of composite material up to 150 feet from this manufacturer.

Lagoon catamarans have deservedly taken the leading positions in the fleets of charter companies of the world. They are reliable, safe and comfortable.
