The oldest in Russia, St. Petersburg River yacht club of trade unions was founded in the middle of the 19th century and has a rich history. At different times, the society of fans of sailing “Nevsky Botiki Club” functioned here, a boat workshop worked, an air defense military unit was based, and international races took place. The yacht port spreads over 13 hectares, in one of the most picturesque places in St. Petersburg - at the western end of Petrovsky Island, and its berths can accommodate more than 350 yachts and boats. The main purpose of the functioning of the yacht club was and is the development of sailing in the region.
